I really appreciate how every single element of the game is so lighthearted. From the gentle sound effects to the vibrant, soft backgrounds to the very wholesome story, its extremely calming to play through!
I really like how you used different text colors to indicate different speakers, and the interactions between the two characters were very cute (and I wasn't expecting the twist!).
Your decision to make choices either "A" or "B" just reminded me the NES controller, and now I wonder how different this game would feel if you approached a retro/pixel aesthetic. Just a thought.
This game's clean visual UI reminds me of how ren.py creates visual novels with its coding. It's very impressive how clean you've made the game look within unity.
I really enjoyed the fact the title is purposefully misleading and you do not in fact find a literal sandwich. The dialogue is very wholesome and overall gives a nice breath of fresh air, with little to think over or worry about. It feels like something that you’d play if you wanted to relax.
feels like a game younger me would’ve gotten a kick out of, there’s a sort of young-writer spirit i enjoyed and feels nostalgic to me
Nice short narrative and a cat names sandwich. I also enjoyed that the game comes back full circle to the start. If I were to suggest anything it would probably be to add some sound like rustling bushes or maybe some park ambience.
Really cute game~The background reminds me of some kind of Japanese comics lol, not sure if you intend to do so. The text is very reader-friendly compared to others. Good job!
With the interactive narrative style game, it reminds me of Quixoticanine’s “Nameless” game, though the visuality goes in completely different direction. The dialogue is whimsy sweet. Also, nice way to loop the story at the end
This game reminds me of the genre of galgame and the setting of speaking cat reminds me of the cat in Persona 5. The whole tone is relax and I really enjoy the game.
The writing style and cute nature of the story made me smile throughout the whole experience :D it feels very much like a visual novel with how the dialogue is presented, and reminded me of the visual novels that were talked about in the pechakuchas like Butterfly Soup.
I would add that the visuals themselves take from the medium as it seems to utilize imagery from actual visual novels. I noticed that there was a copyright symbol below so I wonder what was your source for those images.
I really like the whimsical style of the art and the story. The game had a studio ghibli style of wonder and humor that I found to be really cozy. In general it gave me a warm feeling like I was on a good spring day.
There’s a lot in the game that clues you into its subversive nature, like the fact that you “found a sandwich” but the Sandwich is a cat-friend. Your name being Human while you are actually a cat makes the reveal silly and adds to the light-hearted vibe of the game.
There's only a few options to explore the game, space, A and B. I think the simplicity is a good thing, as it allows the player to focus more on absorbing the story instead. I really liked the experience!
This is so cute! The style and aesthetic really remind me of a dating sim LOL. Or Doki Doki Literature Club just y'know... not dark. Also liked your approach of using text emoticons to convey emotions and characters. It really helped with the vibe of it.
The second read-through made me laugh quite a bit; I love the wordplay that hints towards the twist. Coding-wise, I like how the diverging branches of the story get funneled back into the same ending.
Hehe, loved the play on words that keeps you in the dark until the reveal! "you take a moment to groom yourself"
I like the use of a transparent box for the text to be seen in. Very organized. I also appreciate the use of the different fonts to differentiate between who is talking! I like the plot twist at the end! But how doesn’t Human get confused on the height difference? Or are we a giant cat?
I really enjoy the birds chirping in the background. It really adds to the scenery when you leave and walk around. This feels very much like a cozy game—a very chill game where you discover a cat can talk. I like that you just get to experience the story.
